Etheria Restart: Gear Management Tips and Strategy

Welcome back, everyone! In today’s guide, I’ll be taking you through the gear management process post-2x event in Etheria: Restart. After farming a ton of gear, I want to walk you through the decisions I make when sorting through all this loot, what pieces I keep, which ones I level up, and the general strategy I follow to stay efficient.

This might be a little rougher than usual because I’m recording this all in one take with no edits. So, if I mess up, that's the reason—but I’ll be as thorough as I can.

Starting Gear Overview:

Before the 2x event, I had around 300 pieces of gear. After the event, I’m looking at roughly 1,600 pieces. Realistically, I expect to keep only 10 to 30 of those, after rolling and evaluating them to see if they are worth leveling up. My general strategy for managing this huge gear haul is to filter through everything and get rid of what I don't need.

For my farming strategy during the 2x event, I focused solely on Inferno DokiDoki, and health 4 of both Terrormaton and Aurora. I didn’t farm Inferno for other stages, as I don’t really need much gear from Terrormaton. Aurora, however, is where I farm the most, so I focused there. Moving forward, I plan to farm Aurora full-time until the next 2x event.

Gear Filtering Process:

1. Matrix Set Bonuses and Gear Efficiency:

When managing gear after a 2x event, I start by focusing on the Matrix gear bonuses. If I don’t have a triple matrix of a specific set (like Momentum, Blood Bath, Timeweave, or Keenai), I scrap it. This is because the efficiency of having a full matrix set is far more valuable to me than having random two- or three-piece gear. It’s all about maximizing the bonuses, especially if you’re at a stage where efficiency is paramount.

If a gear piece doesn’t contribute to a triple matrix or if it’s a 2-piece set with no bonus value, I don’t even hesitate to scrap it.

2. Gear with Flat Stats:

Another quick decision is to get rid of gear with flat attack, HP, or defense stats. These are generally not worth keeping, especially for endgame content. However, there are a few exceptions:

  • Inferno specialized cores are an exception. These pieces have strong set bonuses, even with flat stats, making them worth keeping.

For the rest, though, if they have flat stats and are not specialized, they’re out. This is an easy filter to apply to quickly narrow down the gear.

3. Substats Management:

Once I’ve filtered out the obvious pieces, I focus on substats. When looking at gear, especially for damage dealers, I prioritize:

  • Speed

  • Crit Rate

  • Crit Damage

  • Attack Percentage

I roll for these stats, and if I hit flat HP or flat defense, I immediately discard the piece.

It’s important to be stingy with your substats. For example, when evaluating helmets, this is the one piece where I really care about getting crit rate, crit damage, attack percentage, and speed.

4. Specialized Gear and Speed Roles:

Now, for gear like Swift Raid, I’m more flexible. The right side pieces (such as Swift Raid, Evil Guard, etc.) are valuable because they contribute speed and other important substats, like effect accuracy and crit rate. These are perfect for speed boosters or for characters that need those stats for more specific roles (like Lily or Kazio the Revery for debuffing).

While flat HP or defense might not be ideal, if they come with speed, they become far more valuable.

5. Universal Gear Sets:

When evaluating more universal matrix sets like Swift Rush, Wellspring, or Timeweave, I’m more lenient. These sets are useful for a variety of characters and are often used in different team compositions. For example, Swift Rush is excellent for boosting speed and effect accuracy, and Timeweave is more of a support piece that can benefit from crit rate, crit damage, and attack percentage.

Key Takeaways:

  • Efficiency is Key: If you're aiming for late-game content like PvP or Hell 4 farming, keep only high-efficiency gear. Focus on gear that provides the most benefit to your damage dealers and utility characters.

  • Min-Maxing: Be very stingy with substats, especially when it comes to helmets and left-side pieces for damage dealers. Aim for speed, crit damage, and attack percentage primarily.

  • Specialized Gear: For sets like Swift Raid, Evil Guard, and Swift Smite, don't be afraid to keep flat stats if they come with speed or effect accuracy. These sets can still be incredibly valuable for the right characters.

  • Universal Gear: For more versatile sets like Wellspring or Swift Rush, keep effect accuracy, HP percentage, and defense percentage, as these can benefit a wider range of heroes.

Final Thoughts:

Gear management in Etheria: Restart is about being efficient with your resources. You need to be very strategic about what gear to keep, as Etheria Coins are limited, and leveling gear takes a significant amount of resources. While it might be tempting to hold on to everything, being strict with your gear choices will ensure you’re fully prepared for future content.

That's all for today’s guide! Stay efficient, and happy farming!

Conclusion:

In summary, managing gear in Etheria: Restart is all about prioritizing efficiency. After farming during events like the 2x, it's important to review your inventory critically and be strategic about what you level up. Focus on keeping the best pieces with high potential for damage dealing, specialized sets, and efficiency bonuses. Prioritize gear with useful substats and be prepared to recycle low-value pieces, especially those with flat stats. As you push through higher levels of Hell content, gear management becomes even more crucial, so invest Etheria coins wisely.

FAQ:

  1. What should I keep after a 2x event in Etheria: Restart?
Keep high-matrix gear, specialized core pieces, and damage-dealing gear with useful substats like speed, crit rate, or attack percentage.

  2. How do I handle flat stat gear?
Generally, flat stats (like flat HP, attack, or defense) aren't ideal. However, for specialized core pieces, they might still be worth keeping for their set bonuses.

  3. When should I start being more selective with gear?
Once you're farming Hell 4, it’s time to get stingy and focus on minmaxing gear for better efficiency. Before that, you can be a bit more lenient.

  4. Should I keep gear with effect accuracy or effect resistance?
Gear with effect accuracy is valuable for debuffers and certain heroes like Lily or Heinrich, while effect resistance can be useful for tanks or healers.

  5. How do I manage Etheria coins?
Etheria coins are limited, so use them wisely. Be cautious when leveling up gear, and prioritize pieces that will benefit your long-term progression.
